OmniPork Luncheon, the first vegan luncheon meat in the world, was created out of health concerns for the Asian market where luncheon meat is so popular. Due to the added carcinogenic nitrates in the traditional luncheon as preservatives, luncheon meat is listed as the first-class carcinogen by the World Health Organization. Launched by OmniFoods, OmniPork Luncheon contains 0mg cholesterol with high level of proteins, providing dietary fibre, potassium and calcium. Compared with traditional canned luncheon, it has 40% and 49% lower in calories and saturated fat content respectively, and 62% lower in sodium level, meanwhile being non-GMO, cruelty-, antibiotics- and hormone-free, and most importantly free from nitrates. What’s more, it is easy to cook by simply frying each side for 1-2 minutes.
